    Description:
    Red, white and blue checked pattern on leather women's shoes. Approximately mid-way on the shoe is a string, probably to keep foot in place. On either side is a narrow piece of ribbon starting at the sole and moving diagonally to edge of shoe and becomes a ruffle around front inside edge of shoe. Rosette on toe, which is very pointed. Heel is white and stands about one inch tall. Small tag inside one shoe reads, "Miss Julia Hereshoff."
