Description:
  • Child's leather shoe, long tongue, two straps, button missing. Same shoe would fit either foot (straight last). Toe is prow shaped, like a boat. Written in ink on side "Pardon Holden's Mother's First Shoe". Belonged to Mercy Seamans, mother of Pardon Holden. Holden was one of the founders and later President of the Mount Vernon Bank in Foster, R.I.
