Research Notes:
  • George Curtis was the eldest son of David Curtis and Susannah Stone, born Worchester, Massachusetts February 23, 1796. In 1821 he married Mary Elizabeth Burrill in Providence, R.I. and after her death in 1826 he married Julia Bowen Bridgham in Providence, daughter of the mayor of Providence. George Curtis died in Jacksonville, Florida 9 January 1856 at age 59.
