Research Notes:
  • It is believed that Robert Feke (ca. 1707-1752) left this canvas unfinished. It is likely that Feke completed only the face, neck, and upper tunic of the late Self-portrait. An earlier Self-Portrait is in the collection of the MFA, Boston, MA.
