    Half length portrait of young woman in brown, short-sleeved empire gown, patterned white sheer bodice, lace collar fastened with dark band with red medallion. She also wears a white lace cap, looped earrings, and her brown hair is in curls.

    Research Notes:
    On back "Catherine Metcalf Sabin was born August 4 1786, died November 20 1875. James Sabin (her father) was born February 17 1732, died April 27 1806. Anna Briknell (her mother) was born in Attleboro June 6 1754, died June 2 1802. James Sabin and Anna Briknell were married September 30 1773. Joseph Carpenter Wheaton and Catherine were married June 25 1810."
