Title:
  • Malcolm X
Author/Creator:
Description:
  • Malcolm X (Black leader and spokesperson at the time for the Nation of Islam) interviewed by unidentified white WJAR reporter. Reporter asks if he advocates Black Supremacy, and Malcolm X replies: "No we are a religious group. Our religion is Islam, and we advocate freedom, justice and equality for the Black man here in America." He goes on to say that forced integration will not fix the problems of the Black community, and rather that Black people in America should separate and address their own problems, with the help of the white community if it is willing. He finishes by saying that forced integration only makes matters worse.
